Alain Resnais
Alain Resnais (1922–2014) was a French film director and screenwriter, widely regarded as one of the leading figures of the French New Wave and a master of innovative narrative form. Born in Vannes, France, he began his career making short documentaries before gaining international recognition with works such as Night and Fog, a landmark documentary on the Holocaust.Resnais became known for his experimental storytelling and complex explorations of memory, time, and human consciousness in films like Hiroshima mon amour and Last Year at Marienbad. His later career included a wide range of stylistically inventive works, and he remained an influential figure in world cinema for more than six decades.
