Alberto Cavalcanti
Alberto Cavalcanti was a Brazilian filmmaker, producer, and screenwriter born on February 6, 1897, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He became an influential figure in European cinema, particularly in France and Britain, where he worked on avant-garde and documentary films. Cavalcanti gained recognition with experimental works such as Rien que les heures (1926) and later became a key member of the British documentary movement at the GPO Film Unit. He also contributed to the classic horror anthology Dead of Night (1945). Cavalcanti played an important role in the development of documentary and artistic cinema during the 20th century.
