Andrey Zvyagintsev
Andrey Zvyagintsev is a Russian film director and screenwriter born on February 6, 1964, in Novosibirsk, Russia. He is internationally acclaimed for his visually powerful and emotionally intense films that examine family conflict, morality, corruption, and modern Russian society. Zvyagintsev gained worldwide recognition with his debut feature The Return (2003), which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. He later directed critically praised films such as Leviathan (2014) and Loveless (2017), both nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Zvyagintsev is regarded as one of the leading contemporary filmmakers in world cinema.
