Alain Fleischer
Alain Fleischer is a French filmmaker, writer, photographer, and visual artist known for his experimental and interdisciplinary approach to cinema. Born in 1944 in Paris, he has worked across film, literature, and visual arts, often blending documentary and fiction while exploring themes of memory, perception, and representation.Fleischer has directed numerous experimental films and installations and is also the founder and director of the Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains in Tourcoing, a major institution dedicated to contemporary audiovisual creation. His work is noted for its intellectual depth, formal experimentation, and engagement with the boundaries between image, sound, and narrative.
