Alex van Warmerdam
Alex van Warmerdam is a Dutch film director, screenwriter, actor, and visual artist known for his darkly comic and surreal style. Born in 1952 in the Netherlands, he began his career in experimental theater before moving into filmmaking. Van Warmerdam gained international recognition with films such as Borgman, which competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Northerners.
