Andrei Konchalovskiy

Andrei Konchalovsky is a Russian film director, screenwriter, and producer born on August 20, 1937, in Moscow, Russia. He is known for his diverse body of work spanning Soviet, European, and Hollywood cinema. Konchalovsky first gained recognition with films such as Siberiade (1979) and later directed international productions including Runaway Train (1985) and The Odyssey (1997). He frequently explores themes of history, human struggle, and social change through visually rich storytelling. The older brother of Nikita Mikhalkov, Konchalovsky has earned numerous international awards and remains one of the most respected figures in Russian and world cinema.
