Anne Le Ny

Anne Le Ny (born 1962) is a French actress, screenwriter, and filmmaker who built a substantial acting career — working with Patrice Leconte, Claude Miller, Agnès Jaoui, and most often Philippe Lioret — before turning to direction. Her debut feature, Ceux qui restent (2007), which she also wrote, starred Vincent Lindon and Emmanuelle Devos and earned her César nominations for Best First Film and Best Original Screenplay. Her second film, Les Invités de mon père (2010), a comedy drawn directly from her own family history, follows a retired physician and lifelong leftist activist who takes in an undocumented Moldovan woman and her daughter, much to his grown children's dismay; the film starred Karin Viard, Fabrice Luchini, and Michel Aumont. Le Ny continues to combine acting, writing, and directing.
