Bácskai Lauró István
István Bácskai Lauró (1933–2020) was a Hungarian film and television director whose career spanned from the 1960s into the 1980s. Born in Budapest, he worked primarily in popular comedy and television crime drama, directing the short Igézet (1964) before moving into feature work with comedies such as Gyula vitéz télen-nyáron (1970), Nyulak a ruhatárban (1972), and Nápolyt látni és… (1973). He also directed for television, including episodes of the long-running crime anthology Megtörtént bűnügyek, and the TV film Utolsó alkalom. Married to the actress Cecília Esztergályos, he remained an active figure in Hungarian popular cinema and television throughout the socialist period.
