Brendan Maher

Brendan Maher is an Australian film and television director with more than three decades of experience across Australian and international productions. He began directing in the 1980s on Australian television series including The Genie from Down Under and Good Guys Bad Guys, the latter winning him his first AFI Award for Best Director in 1997. He later won further AFI Awards for The Road from Coorain and After the Deluge, plus an Australian Directors Guild award for the miniseries Dirt Game. His credits include Tomorrow, When the War Began, Sisters of War, Secret Bridesmaids' Business, and The Secret Life of Us in Australia, and internationally Spartacus, Spooks, Upstairs Downstairs, Silent Witness, a TV adaptation of Wide Sargasso Sea, and episodes of the BBC's The Passing Bells and Starz's Outlander.
