Brillante Mendoza
Brillante Mendoza (born 1960) is a Filipino film director and producer known for his realistic, socially conscious films that portray life on the margins of society. He gained international acclaim with works such as Kinatay (2009), which earned him the Best Director Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and Ma' Rosa (2016). Mendoza is regarded as one of the leading figures in contemporary Philippine cinema, celebrated for his raw, documentary-like style.
