Leticia Jorge Romero

Leticia Jorge, born in 1981 in Montevideo, is a Uruguayan film director and screenwriter known for her sensitive, character-driven storytelling and understated visual style. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, she gained international recognition with her debut feature So Much Water (Tanta agua, 2013), co-directed with Ana Guevara Pose. The film received praise at international festivals for its realistic portrayal of family relationships and adolescence. Jorge later directed Alelí (2019), a bittersweet family drama that further established her reputation in contemporary Latin American cinema.
