Tsai Ming-liang’s Days follows two solitary men living in different worlds: Kang, who suffers from chronic physical pain and lives alone in Taipei, and Non, a young Laotian migrant working in Bangkok. Their lives unfold separately through long stretches of quiet, everyday activity until they meet briefly in a Bangkok hotel, where a simple act of intimacy creates a fleeting connection. With almost no dialogue, Tsai uses extended static shots and patient observation to explore loneliness, bodily suffering, displacement, and the fragile possibility of human contact.
