Maria Subert
Maria Subert is a communication scholar. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Ohio University, specializing in Rhetoric and Public Culture. Her field is intercultural communication, crisis communication, social justice, peace and conflict, and communication involving marginalized communities, including Roma. She is determined to listen to both need and pride narratives as they balance each other in these communities. Maria Subert published numerous articles and book chapters and has presented her research internationally. She has also produced documentary films addressing cultural and social issues. Her films include City of Desire, And What About You?, As Long as We Live and the 2015 documentary Who Carried the Sun.
