Kyoko, the youngest daughter of a bureaucrat widower, finds herself at the center of her sister Momoko’s calculated efforts to secure the family’s prominence. Married to Ichiro Mihara, the influential head of Mihara & Co., Momoko has already arranged advantageous marriages for her other sisters and now targets Kyoko as the key to furthering her ambitions. Momoko plans to wed her to Saburo, Ichiro’s younger brother, but Kyoko is determined to defy her sister’s schemes and maintain her independence.
