About
Successful Greek filmmaker A returns to Greece for a film screening and begins a journey across the Balkans in search of three mysterious undeveloped reels shot by the Manaki brothers, possibly among the earliest films made in the region. Traveling through Albania, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia, A’s journey blends personal memories with Balkan history and the origins of cinema. His search eventually leads him to war-torn Sarajevo, where he meets Ivo Levy, an archivist who once tried to develop the missing reels. A persuades Levy to finish the work. During a rare foggy day that temporarily protects Sarajevo from snipers, A explores the city with Levy’s family. Near the river, they encounter soldiers and are executed, bringing A’s journey to a tragic end. (source: wikipedia)
