For Your Edification

About

For Your Edification (Hungarian title: Miheztartás végett) is a 1971 Hungarian short documentary film directed by István Dárday and Györgyi Szalai. Produced as a part of the experimental documentary movement that ultimately led to the formation of the influential Budapest School cinema style, the film examines the societal pressures, status, and constraints placed upon young people in Hungary. It contrasts the perspectives of the youth against the educational, religious, domestic, and workplace expectations imposed on them by authoritative adult figures. (source: nfi.hu)
